Vaishnavi Sharma powers India to semi-final with win over Bangladesh

The U19 Women's T20 World CupT20 World CupT20 World CupWorld CupWorld Cup 2025 semifinals have been reached by Niki Prasad's Indian squad following a convincing victory over Bangladesh in Super Six Group 1. In a rain-affected match at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, India won, maintaining their tournament-long undefeated record. They finished with eight wickets in hand after successfully chasing down a target of 65 runs in just 7.1 overs.

With statistics of 3/15 in her four overs, Vaishnavi Sharma once again showed off her bowling prowess for India. With nine wickets to her credit, she is now tied for the most wickets taken in the competition.

The Women in Blue got off to a great start thanks to opening batter Gongadi Trisha, who scored 40 runs off 31 balls before being removed. Sanika Chalke and skipper Niki guided India to prevail without any more problems, even though G Kamalini lost early.
