Two, Including A 9-year-Old Boy Injured In Wolf Attack In UP's Bahraich, 'Operation Bhedia' Underway
On Sunday morning in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, two more people, including a 6-year-old girl, were attacked by wolves despite ongoing patrols by forest department officials. This incident raises the total number of deaths to nine, with 35 others injured, including women, children, and the elderly.
Over 35 villages in Bahraich have been on high alert due to the series of wolf attacks over the past month and a half. As part of "Operation Bhediya," four wolves have already been captured. The forest department is using various methods, including elephant dung and urine, to deter the remaining wolves.
Night patrols are being conducted by multiple teams using drone cameras, infrared technology, and thermal imaging to locate the animals. Additionally, a net-equipped cage has been set up to trap wolves entering residential areas.
