Trump says Ukraine can retake all territory from Russia with EU, Nato support

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he believes Ukraine, with backing from the European Union and Nato, can retake all the territory Russia has seized since its invasion more than three years ago.

In a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York, Trump struck a bullish tone on Kyiv’s prospects, declaring: “Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.”

Trump argued that Russia’s war effort has exposed weaknesses rather than strength. “Russia has been fighting aimlessly for three and a half years a War that should have taken a Real Military Power less than a week to win. This is not distinguishing Russia. In fact, it is very much making them look like ‘a paper tiger,’” he wrote.
