Rich tributes were paid to former Chief Minister and founder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) on his 30th death anniversary, across Tirupati and Kurnool on Sunday (January 18, 2026). TDP leaders and activists organised blood donation camps and took up other service activities.

In Tirupati, the Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) paid rich tributes to its founder N.T. Rama Rao at a programme held on the university campus. Vice-Chancellor V. Uma along with Registrar R. Usha offered floral tributes at the statue of N.T. Rama Rao.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor said that the very existence of the University is due to N.T. Rama Rao’s visionary decision in 1983 to establish a university exclusively for women. She urged everyone to imbibe N.T. Rama Rao’s qualities such as simplicity, dedication to work, and discipline, and to collectively strive to take the university to international standards.
