Three killed in a road accident at Lalapettai

Three persons belonging to the same family were killed in a road accident at Lalapettai on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Vijay of Paralii, his wife Soundarya and their one-year-old daughter Shanmathi They were travelling on a two-wheeler to Puliyur, when a van transporting textile workers from Karur to Kulithalai hit the vehicle near Lalapettai bus stop. All three died on the spot.

On information, Lalapettai police arrived at the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem at Government Hospital in Kulithalai. A case has been registered. The driver of the van is absconding.
