Tennis Ramkumar-Myneni Pair One Win Away From Men's Doubles Gold

Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan won the silver medal in the tennis men’s doubles in the Asian Games 2023. On Friday, September 29, they lost to the Taiwanese pair of Jason Jung and Yu-Hsiou Hsu 6-4, 6-4 in the gold medal match at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Tennis Centre Court.

The Indian duo conceded a break of serve in the fifth game and that turned out to be a decisive factor in the context of the opening set. At 3-5, Myneni and Ramanathan held their serve to stay alive, but Taiwan closed out the set in 35 minutes.

At 4-4, India were on their way to making a comeback. But thereafter, Myneni and Ramanathan dropped their serve as Taiwan went 5-4 up. In the end, Jung and Hsu closed out the set in 37 minutes and won the match in an hour and 12 minutes.
