Techie Atul Subhash’s Son To Stay With His Mother, Supreme Court Decides
The decision came after the court had earlier this month dismissed a plea by Anju Devi, Atul's mother, seeking custody of her grandson. The court ruled that Anju Devi was "virtually a stranger" to the child, stating that custody should remain with one of the parents whenever possible.
A Bench of Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma interacted with the four-year-old before ruling that the child would remain in the custody of his mother, Nikita Singhania. The decision also marked the dismissal of a plea by the child's grandmother, Anju Devi, who sought custody and alleged that Nikita had been withholding information about the boy's whereabouts.
The top court, earlier in January, had refused to grant Atul Subhash's mother custody of the child, saying she was "virtually a stranger to the child" and lacked any meaningful relationship with him.
