Team India issues concerning update on Rishabh Pant after he fails to take the field on two days: ‘Badly bruised’

Colombo: Prasidh Krishna (3/47) was the most impressive bowler in the Indian camp, prising out three Sri Lankan top-order batters and playing a crucial role in placing the visitors in a strong position despite some fightback from the hosts on the third day of the second Test here on Tuesday.

The tall pacer bowled with consistently high speeds to rattle the rival batters with his short-pitched deliveries. After dismissing opener Lahiru Udara the previous day, Prasidh had a fending Kamila Mishara caught behind Dhruv Jurel with a nasty bouncer. Later he had a well-set Kamindu Mendis pull straight to mid-wicket where Ravindra Jadeja took a comfortable catch.

With not much happening on the pitch and the ball going soft, Prasidh was tasked with the dirty job of bowling the short stuff. He did the role dutifully in England without much success and copped heavy criticism. On Tuesday, however, he got some rewards for bending his back, what India's bowling coach Morne Morkel termed as "donkey's job".
