T20 World Cup squad: Dube vs Rinku, Gill vs Jaiswal shootouts possible

Mumbai: In a few days’ time the Indian T20 squad would be announced that will go for the World Cup in USA and West Indies. The squad is yet to be announced and speculations are rife over who makes it and who misses out. A report on PTI yesterday suggests that Hardik Pandya, despite his poor form lately, will make the squad. The report also claims that Rinku Singh may miss out on the cut. The report from PTI has named 10 players who are “automatic selections,” and Hardik is one of them.

A report claims that the selectors would have their eyes on Hardik, the bowler.

“There would not be any experimentation or left-field selections. All those who have played for India and have done well consistently in T20 Internationals and the IPL will be rewarded,” a BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

It is understood that one among Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal might miss out but in case both proven performers are selected in the final 15, then only one among two finishers — Kolkata Knight Riders’ Rinku Singh and Chennai Super Kings’ Shivam Dube — will get the nod.
