A female student at Chennai’s Anna University alleged sexual assault by two unidentified persons inside the campus while she was walking with a male friend, sparking protests from student political parties.
As per reports, the victim was a 19-year-old engineering student who was sexually assaulted by two persons when she was accompanied by a friend. The matter came to light when she filed a complaint on December 24 (Tuesday).
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu’s Higher Education Minister Govi Chezhian confirmed that one person has been detained and an investigation is underway. A committee has also been formed in the university to probe the matter. Four special police teams have been formed to nab the accused.
