Seized drugs worth ₹50 crore destroyed

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chennai, incinerated 2.3 kg of seized drugs worth ₹50 crores on Saturday.

The drugs, which included 1.7 kg of ganja, over 500 kg of ephedrine, and 19 kg of methamphetamine, were destroyed in the incinerator in Chengalpattu, under the strict supervision of the Drug Disposal Committees and NCB officers.

All environmental and safety norms were adhered to during the disposal process, said P. Aravindan, Director, NCB (Chennai zone).
