Scott Adams, the creator of the iconic “Dilbert” comic strip and a vocal supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump, died on Tuesday at the age of 68, his wife announced.

Adams’ wife, Shelly Miles, confirmed his death during an online livestream, where she read a final message from the cartoonist. Adams had been battling metastatic prostate cancer and had publicly shared updates about his declining health in recent months.

Best known for “Dilbert,” a satirical comic strip that skewered corporate office culture, Adams launched the strip in 1989. Centered on a bespectacled engineer with a perpetually crooked tie, the comic became a fixture in American newspapers for decades and, at its peak, was among the most widely syndicated strips in the United States.
