Sanju Samson Compares Sandeep Sharma With Jasprit Bumrah After Rajasthan Royals Exit IPL 2024
New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson hailed pacer Sandeep Sharma’s impact for the side in the ongoing Indian Premier League and even compared the 31-year-old with India international Jasprit Bumrah. Coming in as a replacement for injured Prasidh Krishna, Sandeep played a pivotal role I Rajasthan Royals’ journey in IPL 2024 with 13 wickets in 11 games at an economy of 8.18. However, despite Sandeep’s efforts, Rajasthan Royals failed to make the final as they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on Friday.
“I am really happy for him. By not being picked in the auctions and coming back as a replacement. the way he bowled, he has definitely delivered. If we look at the numbers, Sandeep Sharma in the last two years, he will be the next guy after Bumrah. He has done a great job,” hailed Samson.
Such was Sandeep’s impact that even Samson preferred the right-arm pacer over the likes of Trent Boult or Avesh Khan and he delivered. Sandeep has played two T20Is for India in 2015 but his international career was cut short by injuries.
