Rohit Sharma's chat with Agarkar before press conference goes viral
Before the Champions Trophy press conference that took place on Saturday, January 18, Indian captain, Rohit Sharma was heard having a chat with chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The 37-year-old, apparently, had a talk with Agarkar regarding ‘family’. The involvement of families with players on tour has come under scrutiny after India’s 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“Mere ko 1 dhed ghanta baithna padega. Ye sab bol rahe hai mere ko family-wamily ka (After the press conference, I have to sit with the secretary to discuss the family role. People are calling me)," Rohit was heard saying.
India Today recently reported that the BCCI decided to curb family time for the Indian players on international tours. The board also learnt that the suggestion came from none other than the head coach Gautam Gambhir himself. Sources said that Gambhir wants to root out the indiscipline in the Indian team and suggested that family time be limited on both short and long tours.
