India wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh was appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the West Bengal Police after her heroics in the Women’s World Cup 2025. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee personally handed over the appointment letter during a felicitation ceremony organised by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Saturday, November 8 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The 22-year-old Richa was also honoured with the prestigious Banga Bhushan award from the state government. The CAB presented her with a golden bat and ball, along with a cash reward of Rs 34 lakh. Additionally, the West Bengal government gifted her a gold chain, which was handed over by the Chief Minister.
