Mohali: A day before Punjab Assembly Polls 2022, the state’s Chief Electoral Officer on Saturday ordered the registration of an FIR against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal for violation of the model code of conduct and making ‘false and frivolous allegations against other parties”. The mode of conduct has been in force in poll-bound Punjab since January 8. All 117 Assembly seats in Punjab will go to the polls on Sunday, with the state set to witness a multi-cornered contests. Punjab is currently ruled by the Congress.

Polling in Punjab will be held from 8 am to 6 pm. The counting will take place on March 10. Campaigning for the Sunday polls had ended on Friday, with senior leaders of the parties making a final effort to woo voters.
