Ranbir Kapoor undergoes dramatic physical transformation for Animal in video shared by his fitness trainer. Watch
New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor deserves a round of applause after Animal had the greatest opening weekend at the box office of his career. However, a segment of people has been criticising the film for its problematic theme, glorification of violence and toxic masculinity. Anurag Kashyap has lately expressed his support for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film. According to the director, people in India are known to be easily offended by films.
As the Sandeep Reddy Vanga actioner continues to draw in theatregoers, some online critics have pointed out the film's overt promotion of toxic masculinity and sexism. The harsh and divisive themes explored in Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' have provoked strong responses from audiences online. The film has been called "misogynistic" by certain reviews. Now, director Anurag Kashyap defended the film in an interview with News18 Showsha.
Kashyap said, "I’m yet to watch Animal. I just returned from Marrakech. But I’m aware of the conversations happening online. Nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn’t make. People in this country get easily offended with films. They get offended with my films too. But I expect educated people to not get offended at the drop of a hat."
