Raman Rajamannan, Kerala’s Tribal King, To Attend Republic Day Celebrations
Republic Day 2025: Raman Rajamannan, the ceremonial tribal king of Kerala's Mannan community, has been invited to the 76th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, scheduled for Sunday. Rajamannan along with his wife Binumol has already reached the capital to attend the ceremony.
The invitation for the event was personally handed over by Kerala’s Minister for the Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes, OR Kelu. In New Delhi, Rajamannan is set to meet President Droupadi Murmu and other dignitaries as part of his itinerary till Feburary 2.
At 39 years old, Raman Rajamannan holds a unique position as the symbolic leader of the Mannan tribe, based in the Kozhimala tribal settlement in Idukki district, Kerala, as per a report on Mathrubhumi. Unlike conventional monarchs, Rajamannan lives a modest life as a farmer. His residence is a simple concrete house, and he shares responsibilities at a local temple with his family.
