PM Modi urges teachers to address excessive screen time, drug addiction among students

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed teachers on Teachers' Day, highlighting their crucial role in shaping the future of India's students and young generation. Speaking on September 5, the Prime Minister urged educators to move beyond textbooks and the boundaries of the prescribed syllabus to connect with students' lives and experiences.

He emphasised that teachers have an important responsibility to preserve the innocence and curiosity of childhood, saying that educators themselves should keep their inner child alive. Modi extended his greetings and best wishes to teachers across the country on the occasion.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit Delhi University's prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) later in the day, where he will interact with and address students. The visit adds significance to the Teachers' Day celebrations, with the Prime Minister continuing his outreach programmes involving students, educators and young people.
