Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in a grand event in Kolkata in December where approximately 1 lakh people will collectively chant the Bhagavad Gita, informed BJP's West BengalBengalBengal president Sukanta Majumdar on Monday. The event, named 'Ek Lakh Gita Path,' is scheduled to take place at the Brigade Parade Ground on December 24, news agency PTI reported.
"We have invited PM Modi to attend the program, and he has accepted our invitation. One lakh people will recite Bhagavad Gita together on that day," the Bengal BJP President said, as quoted by PTI.
He clarified that the program is non-political, and invitations have also been extended to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Governor CV Ananda Bose, and other prominent personalities of the state.
