PM Modi Hosts Jamaican Counterpart Andrew Holness At Hyderabad House

West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness' official visit to India. The former cricketer shared a video of the meeting on his social media platforms, captioned, "Honour to have met with the Prime Minister of India @narendramodi. Jamaica To India," followed by the hashtag "OneLove." The video captures the charismatic cricketer greeting PM Modi with a respectful "Namaste," underscoring the bond between India and Jamaica.

PM Holness arrived in New Delhi on Monday for a four-day diplomatic mission, marking the first-ever bilateral visit by a Jamaican head of state to India. His visit, at the invitation of PM Modi, is seen as a historic step in strengthening ties between the two nations. The visit will extend until October 3.

Upon his arrival, Holness expressed his delight at being in India, especially coinciding with Chris Gayle's presence. In a post on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter), the Jamaican leader stated, "Chris Gayle is not just an icon in Jamaica; he is also widely known, respected, and adored here in India for his cricketing prowess. It's great to be here at the same time as him during our working visit to India. I am also pleased to be joined by Jamaican businessmen of Indian heritage."
