The Indian contingent at the Asian Athletics Championships finished with a total of 24 medals. India won 6 medals on the final day of the competition, maintaining their position in second place in the medal tally, only behind China.
India put in an impressive performance in the competition, grabbing a string of personal bests. In the men's javelin final on Saturday, Sachin Yadav, competing in his first international tournament, threw his personal best, securing the silver medal in the final.
Apart from Sachin, India's Parul Chaudhary claimed her second silver of the meet with a strong run in the women's 5000m, clocking 15:15.33s to finish second, adding to the silver she had earlier won in the 3000m steeplechase.
