US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly claimed to have brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan during the military conflict back in May, intensified his assertion on Thursday. The Republican also specified the tariff rate he claims to have repeatedly used to pressure India and Pakistan into stopping the conflict.

"India and Pakistan were going to go at it with nuclear weapons. I told them, you can go at it, but I'm putting a 350 percent tariff on each country, no more trade with the United States…," Trump said during his remarks at Washington DC.

He defended his tariff moves on various countries and said that the duties helped him settle five of the eight wars. Further taking a swipe at Joe Biden, Trump said that former President wouldn't know "what countries were talking about" and that the "whole world would go to hell".
