Off-duty soldier shot at, injured in Kashmir’s Pulwama

An off-duty soldier was shot at and injured in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday (December 4, 2024) evening. Earlier, militants tossed two grenades at a picket of an Army camp in Poonch district of the Jammu province.

Officials said the soldier, a resident of Pulwama’s Tral area, was fired upon from a close range by unidentified armed men in Sofigund area. He sustained bullet wounds in lower limbs in the attack. His condition is stated to be stable, the officials said.

Security forces rushed reinforcements to the area and cordoned off the attack area to trace the militants. No militant outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.
