Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday ruled out any infection as the reason behind the mysterious deaths of 17 people in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, and said that initial investigation suggested that incidents occurred due to “toxins".
The Minister said that the probe is underway to identify the toxin and said that appropriate action will be taken if any “conspiracy" comes to the fore.
“As per preliminary investigation conducted by the CSIR lab in Lucknow, it is not any infection, viral or bacterial in nature. Toxins have been found. Now, investigation is underway to ascertain what kind of toxin it is," he said.
