Mother kills 10-year-old with help of lover, hides chopped up body in suitcase

Assam Police on Monday arrested a woman and her lover for the murder of her 10-year-old son, whose mutilated body was found stuffed inside a suitcase in Guwahati on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Mrinmoy Barman, was a Class V student of Navodaya Jatiya Vidyalaya. His body was discovered by a local scrap collector along a deserted stretch of road near the Forest Department office.

Following initial suspicion, the police detained the boy's mother, Dipali Rajbongshi, and her lover, Jyotimoy Haloi. During interrogation, the two confessed to murdering the child.
