Heavy rainfall has triggered widespread disruption across several parts of India, causing floods, landslides, and severe damage in both hilly and plain regions. In Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, a reported cloudburst led to flash flooding that affected hotels and homes, while rescue teams assisted tourists and ensured the safety of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
Continuous rain also caused landslides in Sirmaur and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh, damaging roads, houses, and infrastructure. In one incident, a retaining wall collapsed, while another landslide blocked a major road, though timely warnings helped prevent casualties.
Rising water levels in the Ganga River near Rishikesh prompted authorities to advise people to stay away from the riverbanks. Heavy rain also caused waterlogging in Dehradun, Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh), and Ambala (Haryana), where flooded roads disrupted traffic and damaged homes. In Ambala, flooding from the Tangri River forced several families to evacuate.
