Middle East is on the brink, can’t afford more war: UN chief

Addressing the meeting, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that ‘Middle East’ was on the brink emphasizing that neither the region nor the world can afford more war. Notably, the meeting was held following Iran’s drone and missile attacks on Israel.

“We have a shared responsibility to work for peace. Regional–and indeed global–peace and security are being undermined by the hour. Neither the region nor the world can afford more war,” Guterres said in his statement.
