Fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi, wanted in the Rs 13,850 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case, is now facing another issue back home — unpaid dues worth around Rs 63 lakh for his flats at Gokul Apartments in Mumbai’s posh Malabar Hill locality, according to a report by news agency ANI.
A society member told news agency ANI that Choksi has not paid maintenance charges for over seven years for the three residential units he owns in the building, spread across the 9th, 10th, and 11th floors.
“He has seven years of maintenance due. He has three units — 9th, 10th and 11th floors. The 11th floor is a terrace, he has illegally occupied it. There is maintenance dues of around Rs 63 lakh without interest," the member told ANI.
