Maya Tata and Leah Tata, the daughters of Tata Trusts Chairman, Noel Tata, and nieces of Ratan Tata, prefer to lead very private lives, but play various roles in the Tata Group behind the scenes, including being recently included in the Board of Trustees of Sir Ratan Tata Industrial Institute (SRTII).

Establish in 1928 by Lady Navajbai Tata and Stri Zarthosti Mandal, or Parsi Women’s Circle, to provide employment opportunities to downtrodden women, the SRTII runs various training programs such as cooking, sewing, embroidery and Montessori teacher training unit, to provide gainful employment to women.

Other trustees on the SRTII board included Farida Tata, Aloo Tata, Mehnosh Kapadia and Dhan Khusrokhan.
