Man found dead near railway track

Visagan, 26, of Malgudi was found dead with cut injuries near the railway track at Malgudi on Tuesday.

According to police, Tiruvarur Taluk police received information that a man’s body was near the railway track. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was a graduate and was working in a flex banner manufacturing unit at Vilamal on the outskirts of Tiruvarur. Cut injuries were found on his neck and hand.

A motorbike, knife and torch light were seized by the police from near the murder site. The body was sent to Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem, the police said.
