A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall struck near the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage route in Katra on Monday morning, injuring four pilgrims and disrupting movement along the old track.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 8:50 am at Gulshan Ka Langar, near Banganga, the key starting point of the yatra, where pony riders usually gather. Continuous downpours over the past few days caused the debris to loosen and slide down onto the path.
A swift rescue operation was launched by local authorities, and four pilgrims who were trapped under the rubble were pulled out and rushed to a nearby hospital. Their condition is currently stable, officials said.
