Indian shuttler Laskhya Sen began his Paris Olympics campaign with a convincing win over Guatemalan’s Kevin Cordon in the men’s singles Group L. However, the victory won’t count anymore after Cordon pulled out of the Olympic Games due to a left elbow injury.

In an official update, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) said the results of all matches played, or yet to be played, involving Cordon are ‘now considered deleted’.

“Guatemalan men’s singles player Kevin Cordon has withdrawn from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Badminton Competition due to a left elbow injury,” the BWF said in an update.
