Kerala Budget: ₹4,039.36 crore to be spent on research and development in 2025-26

The Kerala government hopes to spend an estimated ₹4,039.36 crore on research and development across sectors in 2025-26, according to the R&D Budget tabled in the State Assembly on Friday.

While the allocation is up from ₹3,678.52 crore in 2024-25, the allocation accounted for 0.28% of the estimated Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), the same as last year.

Of the combined R&D allocation across sectors, ₹1,723.89 crore comes under plan and ₹2,315.46 crore under non-plan allocations, the R&D Budget for the 2025-26 fiscal, tabled in the Assembly as a separate document said.
