Kapil Dev backs out-of-form Abhishek Sharma to play T20 World Cup final

Legendary former India captain Kapil Dev on Friday backed struggling opener Abhishek Sharma and said the youngster must trust his ability ahead of India's ICC Men's T20 World Cup final against New Zealand.

Defending champions India will face New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Abhishek has scored just one half-century in the competition, against Zimbabwe national cricket team, and his inconsistent returns have made him appear as a potential weak link if India persist with him in the final.

Kapil, however, believes confidence and backing from the team management can help the youngster rediscover his form.
