Vijay's Jana Nayagan releases in cinemas today (July 23), marking the Tamil superstar's much-awaited swansong on the big screen. The film arrives just months after Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu following the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's victory in the state Assembly elections.

Directed by H Vinoth, the action thriller hits theatres after a prolonged certification battle with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), making it one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
