Israel strikes rebel-held Yemen port after evacuation warnings

The Israeli Air Force on Tuesday launched strikes Yemen’s Houthi-controlled Hodeidah port.

Following an evacuation warning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had struck “a military infrastructure site belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime at the Hodeida port in Yemen". They said that the port was being used “for the transfer of weapons supplied by the Iranian regime, in order to execute attacks against Israel and its allies".

The Times of Israel quoted Defense Minister Israel Katz as saying that the strike on Hodeida Port was aimed at continuing “the naval and aerial blockade on the Houthi terror organization."

Following the attack, Houthi spokesperson Yayha Saree posted on X: “Our air defences are currently confronting the Israeli aircrafts that are launching an aggression against our country."
