New Delhi: India wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan opted out of the two-match Test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. Now as per recent reports, Ishan has informed BCCI that he is suffering from mental fatigue and that is the reason behind his break. BCCI has named KS Bharat as Kishan’s replacement. The first Test begins on Boxing Day at Centurion followed by the second game on January 3 in Cape Town.

“Mr Ishan Kishan has requested the BCCI to be released from the upcoming Test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. The wicket-keeper has subsequently been withdrawn from the Test squad. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Mr KS Bharat as a replacement,” BCCI said in a statement.

The Indian Express on Friday reported that Kishan requested the Indian team management last week in South Africa to let him take a break as he had been travelling non-stop for the past one year.
