International conference inaugurated
International Gender and Technology Conference organised by the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences in collaboration with the UNESCO chair for gender equality and women’s empowerment started at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on Friday.
Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, Minister of State of Jal Shakti, inaugurated the event. Key attendees included Mehdi Sneine, UN Tech Envoy Secretary-General; Tim Curtis, UNESCO South Asia Regional Office Director; and Mohammed Kasim, former Chair of IEEE Kerala. The event was presided over by Bhavani Rao, Dean of the School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The four-day conference will feature sessions by over 50 speakers. It includes keynote speeches, a mega hackathon, workshops, and exhibitions. The event sponsored by IEEE SSIT and its Kerala Chapter will conclude on Sunday.
