Indian tourist in Nepal cries for help: Mob torched hotel, chased me with sticks
Amid pandemonium in the streets of Nepal due to the Gen Z protests, videos of tourists stranded in the Himalayan nation have flooded social media, appealing for evacuation. One such video that has gone viral is of an Indian woman who has described her harrowing experience in Pokhara, where her hotel was set on fire, and she barely managed to escape from a rancorous mob.
In the video, the tourist, who identified herself as Upastha Gill, said she travelled to Nepal for a volleyball tournament. She appealed to the Indian government to rescue her as the unrest in Nepal continued for the third day.
Over 20 people have died in clashes with police after thousands of young Nepalese citizens hit the streets to protest the KP Sharma Oli government's social media ban.
