Indian American physician pleads guilty to healthcare fraud

Mona Ghosh, a 51-year-old IndianIndianIndian American physician from the Chicago area has pleaded guilty to a federal healthcare fraud by billing Medicaid and private insurers for nonexistent services.

Ms. Ghosh, who owns and operates Progressive Women’s Healthcare, specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology services, pleaded guilty to two counts of health care fraud.

Each count is punishable by up to ten years in federal prison.

U.S. District Judge Franklin U. Valderrama has set sentencing for October 22.
