INDIA bloc MPs to protest in Parliament against 'discriminatory' Union Budget
The opposition INDIA bloc has decided to stage a protest at Parliament on Wednesday over the Union Budget, with many parties calling it "discriminatory" against opposition-ruled states.
Top leaders of INDIA bloc parties assembled at 10 Rajaji Marg residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss the Opposition's strategy after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her seventh consecutive budget.
The leaders who attended the meeting at Kharge's residence were Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs Sanjay Raut and Arvind Sawant, DMK MPs TR Balu and Tiruchi Siva, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Mahua Maji, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee, Aam Aadmi Party MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, among others.
