IMD issues orange alert for region, administration appeal for vigil

Rain Alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for four districts of Tamil Nadu on Monday, as a low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. The weather department stated that a new low-pressure area has formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal. Now, the natural phenomenon is expected to move gradually towards the west-northwest during the next 24 hours.

According to Private meteorologist Pradeep John, the low-pressure area, which has melted, doesn’t have strength to form into a storm. The weather department has forecast the possibility of very heavy rain in the 4 districts of Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Thiruvarur, and Nagapattinam today.
