How Many Times Are Train Blankets Washed? Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Answers

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday informed the Lok Sabha that the blankets allotted to the train passengers are washed at least once a month. His remarks came in response to Congress MP Kuldeep Indora’s question about the frequency of washing blankets.

The Minister further told the House that an additional bedsheet is provided in bedroll kits as a quilt cover.

The minister’s written response emphasised that the current railway blankets are designed to be lightweight, washable, and provide sufficient insulation to ensure passenger comfort during journeys.
