House collapses due to heavy rain

A house collapsed due to the heavy rains in Belagavi on Friday. But no one was injured as the occupants had left the house well in advance.

Kishan Shahapurkar and his family members had left the house a few days ago and were living at the house of a relative. He had noticed that the house was in a dilapidated condition and they left.

A two-wheeler and an auto rickshaw were also damaged. Rainfall subsided by evening.

Water release from Maharashtra increased by around 5% to 91,892 cusecs. Inflow into the Lal Bahadur Shastri reservoir on the Krishna in Almatti increased to around 94,767 cusecs and outflow was around at 10,0670 cusecs. The dam now has 87.6 tmcft or 71.1% of the total storage.
