HAL denies Tejas crash, says it was minor technical snag on ground

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has issued a clarification following recent media reports about an alleged crash involving the LCA Tejas fighter aircraft.

In a statement, the company said there has been no reported crash of the Tejas and described the incident in question as a minor technical issue that occurred on the ground.

HAL said it wanted to place the facts on record amid what it called misleading reports. The company emphasised that the LCA Tejas continues to maintain one of the best safety records among contemporary fighter aircraft globally.
