
'Fugitive' ISIS leader in Iraq 'relentlessly hunted' and killed, says Trump
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the head of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Iraq, besides another unidentified member of the group, was killed in an operation involving the United States. Taking to his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed. He was relentlessly hunted down by our intrepid warfighters, he added.
“Today the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed. He was relentlessly hunted down by our intrepid warfighters. His miserable life was terminated, along with another member of ISIS, in coordination with the Iraqi Government and the Kurdish Regional Government. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH!,” Trump posted on X.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani also posted on X about the death of Abu Khadija and called him to be considered as one of the most dangerous terrorists in Iraq and the world.
