
Former Jammu Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah hospitalised due to abdominal infection
New Delhi: Former CM Farooq Abdullah: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah’s health has deteriorated. He has reportedly been admitted to a private hospital due to a stomach infection. Party leaders confirmed this on Saturday, 04 October 2025. According to reports, the 87-year-old Abdullah had been feeling unwell for the past few days. A party leader said, “He had been ill for a few days, but his health is improving now. Doctors say he may be discharged from the hospital today or tomorrow.”
A team of doctors is currently monitoring his health closely, and the family has appealed to the public to pray for his speedy recovery.
Admitted to hospital on doctors’ advice Party leaders said that Farooq Abdullah had been under medical observation for several days and was admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors to ensure he received proper treatment. Earlier, on September 29, Abdullah welcomed the decision to reopen new tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir. He praised the state government’s efforts to revive tourism after the Pahalgam attack, saying the move was a positive sign for Kashmir’s economy and employment.
