Thousands of farmers from Noida and Greater Noida are set to march towards Delhi today, Monday, as part of a major protest. A joint farmers’ front, formed by around a dozen farmer organisations, has united farmers from villages across Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Authority areas.
The farmers will gather at the Maha Maya Flyover and use tractors and vehicles to march towards the Parliament in Delhi, where they plan to hold a protest. Their demands include 10% developed land, changes to the new land acquisition laws, and a 64% increase in compensation.
To manage the situation, Section 163 has been enforced, and a heavy police presence will be deployed.
