Face deportation and lifetime ban for overstaying, warns US Embassy
US Immigration Rules: The United States Embassy in India released a strong advisory cautioning Indian citizens against overstaying their authorized period of stay in the United States. The embassy emphasized the severe consequences of such violations, including the risk of deportation and a potential permanent ban on future travel to the US.
Underscoring the strict enforcement of US immigration laws, the embassy explicitly stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “If you remain in the United States beyond your authorized period of stay, you could be deported and could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States in the future."
The warning is for Indian nationals currently in the US on various visas, including tourist, student, and work permits.
